Introduction to the first 4 mechanics


Trifoil is an in development line drawing puzzle game. It's due to be released on itch.io and steam for PC. Follow Trifoil development as I take it from a prototype to a full featured Indie game by following me on itch.io, twitter or discord. With that out of the way enjoy the devlog.

So I've finished a rough draft of the how the first four puzzle mechanics are introduced. Unlike version 0.13, the public alpha released early 2022, each puzzle mechanic is introduced in a small concise level, rather then a big sprawling map. So more like Jelly is Sticky or Patrick's Parabox. You cam see the new areas in a video below, complete with messy cables.

I also spent some time cleaning up the movement system as the "Free Twist" mechanic uncovered a few bugs. I also wanted to tidy things up a bit before adding anything new. Speaking of new mechanics, that's the next feature for Trifoil and I think the first one will be the ability to enter and exit the tail. Looking forward to discovering puzzles with this mechanic.
