Back at it and revamp of the tutorial section
Trifoil is an in development line drawing puzzle game. It's due to be released on itch.io and steam for PC. Follow Trifoil development as I take it from a prototype to a full featured Indie game by following me on itch.io, twitter or discord. With that out of the way enjoy the devlog.
Hello, good to be back. After over a years break I'm working on Trifoil again. I've got lots of fresh ideas and some major changes in scope.
First major change is I'm dropping 95% of exploration/story planned. I'm going to make Trifoil a pure puzzle game, so will be more like Patrick's Parabox than The Witness or Taiji. It will contain more concise levels with more thought out puzzle progression. Feedback I got from the previous alpha was it is too easy to get lost and there was a feeling players were not making progress. I might keep the unused puzzles for an unlockable end area.
The first change I made was to revamp the tutorial area. Hopefully it will now be clearer for to new players. You can see the new tutorial area in this tweet.
Stay tuned as it's good to be back.
