Log #15: Post break rethink
Trifoil is an underdevelopment puzzle/exploration game which takes influence for The Witness and Knot Theory. It's due to be released late 2022 on itch.io and steam. In the mean time follow Trifoil development as I take it from a prototype to a full featured Indie game by following me on itch.io or twitter. With that out of the way enjoy the devlog.
After a 2 month break it's great to be back doing Trifoil. After a test play through decided to focus on refactoring some puzzles in the early game area I had been focusing on. I also some time to change the order the player is likely to encounter each one. I've also decided to expand the number of "core" puzzles in one of the initial areas to include about 10-15 more. Fleshing this early game area out a bit. Looks like I'm going to be busy designing puzzles in the next few weeks. Yay!
I also decided to focus on putting out another small alpha release once the early game area, as I want to further test out some core concepts before focusing again on visuals. If your interested in being part of the alpha please get in touch.
It's great to be back into Trifoil dev!
Cheers

Can I try out the alpha of your game? I'm particularly interested in trying some harder puzzles, to see if my strategy works for those. Do you introduce new mechanics during the game? Do you claim there is a unique solution to these puzzles?? Note I've only tried the puzzle in an image editor so far.
You can absolutely be part of the alpha. DM me your email. Yes new mechanics are introduced as the player progresses through the game. Most puzzles have a unique solution, but some have multiple. I'll post some screenshots of harder puzzles for you. There's also an old prototype build you can try, I'll send you a link.
Sorry did not release you cannot DM on itch.io email me at twentyfourhourpajamapeople@gmail.com
