Log 14: Onward towards the steam page


Trifoil is an underdevelopment puzzle/exploration game which takes influence for The Witness and Knot Theory. It's due to be released early 2022 on itch.io and steam. In the mean time follow Trifoil development as I take it from a prototype to a full featured Indie game by following me on itch.io or twitter. With that out of the way enjoy the devlog.

I've been focused the last few weeks designing puzzles and adding content to the first level. I've enjoyed taking the feedback I got from the prototype and applying it to puzzle design. Currently there are 20 new puzzles in the first level and they are far more interesting then anything in the prototype.  The next major milestone for Trifoil is finish the first level and to get a steam page and trailer up.

Speaking of the prototype, I've decided to remove it from the itch.io page. I feel like it will confuse people about what sort of game Trifoil will be. I'm building out Trifoil as a puzzle game with lite exploration elements, the prototype did not reflect this. I'm also concerned that people might think the prototype is a demo and it's quality will be reflected in the final game. It will not. Everything from puzzle design, graphics, movement system and sound will be vastly improved.  My goal for Trifoil is to be a high quality independent puzzle game.

I'm really happy with how the prototype went, I got same great feedback and learnt allot from it. But it's time to move  towards the next phase for Trifoil and wave it good bye. If you really want to play it, please get in touch.
