Playable prototype released!
Trifoil has reached a major milestone, the playable prototype is out! It has over 60 handcrafted puzzles. Download it from https://andrew-jones.itch.io/trifoil . The point of the prototype is to test the puzzle ideas to see if it is worth making it into a full game. Feedback is very welcome: twentyfourhourpajamapeople@gmail.com
I'm really happy with how big the prototype got, 68 hand crafted puzzles, wow that is a lot! For comparison The Witness has 665 puzzles, so it has 10% of the puzzle count of that incredible game. Not too bad for a prototype and could be considered a small Indy game at this point. But I got far more ideas I want to add. This is just the first step.
The next phase of Trifoil, will be figuring out how to make it more then a series of puzzles with some discovery adventuring elements. I'm not sure what form this will take, but have a few ideas. I'm also going to start focusing on polish, taking it to a level where it can eventually justify a price tag. But this is a while off. In the mean time enjoy the prototype I think it demonstrates the core game-play well, even if it lacks polish. Feedback very welcome twentyfourhourpajamapeople@gmail.com
